Shatin Mascot arrives at New Town Plaza! To celebrate the 40th anniversary, New Town Plaza and the Hong Kong Youth Creative Arts Assocation join hands to organize the “Shatin Mascot Design Competition”, inviting the students and the public to design mascot with the characteristics of Shatin and New Town Plaza. The winning entries will grant the chance to become the spokesperson of the mall and will be created into a 3D installation for display in the mall.

Competition Categories:
Primary and Secondary School Group : Open to all primary and secondary school students in Hong Kong
Tertiary and Open Group: Open to all tertiary students in HK and any other interested individuals
Awards:
Each group will have Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Excellence awards selected by the organizer and co-organizer. Winners will receive prizes and certificates, while all participants will be awarded a participation certificate of appreciation.
Prizes for Student Group:
- Gold Award: $2,000 Commercial Press cash voucher, $1,000 SHKP Malls gift card and a certificate.
- Silver Award: $1,000 Commercial Press cash voucher, $1,000 SHKP Malls gift card and a certificate.
- Bronze Award: $500 Commercial Press cash voucher, $500 SHKP Malls gift card and a certificate.
- Excellence Award: $500 mall’s shopping voucher and a certificate (20 winners)
- Participation Appreciation Award: A participation certificate
Prizes for Open Group:
- Gold Award: $5,000 SHKP Malls gift card and a certificate
- Silver Award: $4,000 SHKP Malls gift card and a certificate.
- Bronze Award: $3,000 SHKP Malls gift card and a certificate.
- Excellence Award: $500 shopping voucher and a certificate (20 winners)
- Participation Appreciation Award: A participation certificate.

– Recruitment Period: Now until May 2
– Submission Deadline: May 2, 2025
– Results Announcement: Late May
All winning works may be adapted into 2D or 3D formats and showcased on digital screens, promotional materials, or designated exhibition areas within New Town Plaza.
